Renovation
Proclamation
"In many cities around
the world new construction prices are climbing. As a result of these factors, the renovation market has thrived in many major cities and
suburban centres around the world. Pop culture and investment opportunity have inspired people to better their properties and, in turn,
assist in raising neighborhood property values".
- Expanding Mag
Is it
harder to build new or renovate? Renovations and new buildings incorporate many of the same components, whether design, construction or
financing. Often, renovations are thought to be easier, since everything already exists. In many cases, existing conditions require
more attention. Site/parking issues and interior, structural or systems conditions all need assessment by an architect and/or engineer. Often,
the project may require design work or engineering similar to starting from scratch. Retaining historical or unique elements
such as wood floors, requires a knowledgeable contractor, who is detailed and precise.
